Hello everyone. emsprater here. Just a quick note to let you all know I've had a comment hidden and have received the 'must acknowledge message'. At this point in time, I am inclined to let it pass by and let dKos drift into oblivion. My comment was not HR worthy, IMHO. I've messaged the help desk, but apparently it's not staffed on the weekend. My HR comment sat for about 8 hours before the first flag was dropped on it. I'm over it. I'll have more free time without dKos, or as I call it once again, DailyWeAllHateHillaryAllTheTime.
Update: Sunday morning, still no answer from the help desk, and since it is the weekend, none was expected. Monday will decide whether I return to dKos ( or again, as I call it for the time being, DailyWeAllHateHillaryAllTheTime ).

I'm refusing to acknowledge the receipt of my own incredibly insulting recent TO message because I want it to remain visible to me as a reminder of why I refuse to go back to the snakepit. If Markos thinks "evenhanded" TOing of both BSers and those they attack (when the BSers are the worst offenders) will help matters, he's mistaken. If Markos thinks being cheap and not hiring real mods to do real moderation can lead to anything other than the eventual demise of his site in a mass of sweltering emoprogism a la FDL once the mods were dumped, well, he's mistaken there, too.

Well, it's Monday, the help desk should be staffed now. As of now, 11:05 am ET, I still have no response from them. I've been especially polite in my message to them, and am still waiting ........

Markos is going to have to ban upwards of a hundred Berners (and more like two hundred) if he wants to regain control of his site. He did yet another warning post to them today and they essentially blew him a collective raspberry.

Hello, arabian here. I don't post many diaries at DKos (only comments). I'm afraid that with the lack of any major action on Markos' part after March 15, DK is pretty much doomed to carry on as is and will just get worse and worse. (Gosh, it's a cesspool there.) Alas, I don't believe I can get onto proboards at work, but I'll be checking this place out when I'm home.

In my view, Markos' problem is twofold:
1) Part of him sympathizes (or used to) with the Berners. Hell, he turned over the DK mailing list to the Sanders campaign, which used it to build its own mailing list.
2) Because he sympathizes with them, he can't wrap his brain around the fact that their most vocal members hate the Democratic Party he has worked so hard to support - and that they intend to take DK away from him (and effectively have, for the most part).
He refuses to believe "community moderation" simply cannot work when a site has been targeted for swarming and takeover. He refused to admit what was happening when the Redditbros and the same New Progressive Alliance emoprogs that hijacked and destroyed FDL then proceeded to swarm DK and team up with the existing Naderite contingent that should have been purged back in 2008.
DK is no longer about electing Democrats. Not with the Naderites running riot and throwing flags.

Ah, I didn't realize that Markos had done 1). I thought it was fairly obvious that he sympathized with Bernie, though. I'm hoping that with the silence from him lately that he's actually sitting back and trying to work on some sort of strategy or he knows that his namesake site is lost. A few things I can think of a few things that need to happen:
1. A major purging.
2. Anonymous flags go away.
3. Heavy-handed moderation for at least a month... if not longer.
