My response, which I couldn't post.. Unless it's here. Parody of original. Not my best work but it felt good.
Enjoy. No Holds Barred. This will not be published. I'd be BOJO'd in a second. But I really enjoyed doing this.
Straight talk - the Hillary, Trump, and Bernie versions
the whine of the berniebro will die
Most mistakenly, many talking heads compare Trump to Sanders, treating both as their parties' extremes, or both as wild-talking crazy men who will say anything on the internet, loudly, often as possible, and obnoxiously.. This is un-unintelligent analysis. For one thing, Trump's winning attribute, to his supporters, has nothing to do with positions. It's their strong passion - they love the hate, just like the berning hate of Hillary that burns in their hearts, day and night, the one thing they both have in common. . The two men speak without hesistation, without filter, thoughtlessly, and destructively. Trump does so because he is speaking from his id to his supporters' ids. That is the essence of his political strength. Logic, truth or verification would be an impediment to his success. Likewise, pie in the sky promises is all Bernie gives to his supporters. Caught up in the la viva revolucion, both groups are prepared to sweep the barricades with their passion – no matter the way or the how. Trump is not well acquainted with the muse of logic, and neither is Bernie.
Bernie, like Trump, speaks tactlessly, and without care, but in his case it is because his strength is speaking beliefs that have been formed in 1964 and never changed ever since, and his positions are rooted in the belief that he is never wrong.. He doesn't have to make tactical calculation on the essence of what he is saying — he is already living that essence, to the determinant of everybody else.. His consistent strategy is to say what he means, regardless of nuance. Bernie is always right.
Hillary's supporters - her advisors, and even she herself – have given many answers to questions about her sincerity, authenticity, honesty - even her paid spokespersons are fully conscious that everybody thinks that she is dishonest and would rather not talk about it -- because all the people who hate Hillary only think that Hillary can't answer a question simply and straightforwardly. Facts be damned. Context be damned. We know the truth. Hillary is a liar, a corporatist shill and completely untrustworthy. She is not wired that way, it would go against her game plan, and for decades, for her whole life, the right wing has been relying on a strategy of trying to confuse people, trying to appeal to the greatest number of people by saying one thing in one time and place, another thing in another time and place, and counting on not being called on it. In a debate or interview, in real time the haters see and hear the the voices inside her head that whisper: “Hillary is a liar. Hillary is a liar. Hillary is a liar. Hillary is a liar”. Their gears are grinding as they plots their course through her answers to questions, guided by what the newest talking points (humans, inculcated in the Bill/Hillary/nowChelsea methods) tells us is the most effective, best bet for our electoral goal to utterly destroy the frontleader of the Democratic party, so we can cry foul when our efforts eventually result in a bloody civil war. It's Hillary's fault. Always. No matter what. People can see that Bernie is an manipulative and calculating politician. Even his enemies usually concede that, because disputing it is discrediting in itself.
Like Bernie, Trump is dishonest, and has no principle other than self-glorification, but Trump's direct style, his id-to-id communication style, is mistakable for open honesty. If Bernie does become the nominee, it is hard for me to see how Bernie’s sneaky, passive-aggressive and artful smears trumping Trump's simple and direct deceit.
It is Hillary’s direct, intelligent honesty that can trump Trump. Experienced, skilled and knowledgeable Hillary is, in spite of tremendous institutional, infrastructural disadvantages, has wrestled Bernie into a corner, ready for the knockout, in a system heavily heavily crookedly stacked in with the patriarchial hate of Hillary. If Hillary becomes the nominee, the glass ceiling is broken, and the roles are reversed. The media will continue to give Trump limitless free media exposure while slaving over Bernie and ignoring everything about his record. Hillary can challenge and overcome Trump's advantages with the truth that people are thirsting for. Can Bernie's style of old school sexist wimpy ass bullshit bluster trump Trump’s?
