New Dkos user banned by overzealous flag abuse

Unfortunately, I can.

This is why mob moderation must go. This is also why I will never be allowed back at Daily Kos, because I'm HOS (hide on sight) to the Naderites and Bernie Bros.

Here is what needs to be done:

    "To that end: We are making some changes to the moderation policy. In addition to changing some members of the moderating team, moderators will now be doing moderation under anonymous moderator accounts. (Except for me. I will still be moderating under my own name.)

    "We have always wanted to have complete transparency regarding moderation in this space, but I have to weigh transparency against the safety of the moderators. All I can do is assure you that these changes are not being made because we want to make them, nor because we want to be anything less than transparent."


This is the system introduced at Shakesville in 2014, after a pretty severe attempt by some Bros to hijack her site and harass anyone associated with it. (This was also the system used at FDL for many years, up until May of 2011, and it worked like a charm. Its elimination in favor of cheaper DK-style mob moderation led directly to the site's takeover, the exodus of the quality writers and diarists, and the demise of FDL three years later.)

Turns out the poor schmo got caught in the spambot glitch trap.  

Remember the massive onslaught of spam accounts that used to plague the site?  What stopped them was the introduction of coding that, among other things, auto-banned someone who put a hyperlink in his/her very first comment.  


Unfortunately, this also catches good-faith first-time commenters like MDM55 who don't know about this little booby trap.  And the only way one's likely to know about the trap is if one sits down and reads the voluminous and crappily-organized FAQ before making a single comment (and how many newbies are going to do that?).

Ah Glen I know him well. He followed me after I flagged him for trolling behavoir. He's the one that thinks he outed me as "flag abuser" and suddenly it stopped. Funny, the only thing that happened was I wasn't spending a lot of time on DK, I still flag what I see is an issue and against the rules. Where as he's the one that has pretty much disappeared unless he wants to talk about "tenure" and how those with "tenure" are better then the rest. (Yet they call others elite).

I am voting for Hillary, and I've been a left of center Dem my entire adult life, but Hillary did something I take more seriously than most of her supporters. I wrote a diary about it, I'd just registered because I wanted to comment on other posts, and then decided to write my first diary to explain why I think the issue matters and why I was disturbed by it. Within five minutes of hitting "publish," I was banned from the site. I didn't realize it until I wanted to edit a mistake I'd made and discovered almost immediately after publishing. I can't edit my mistake though, nor delete the diary (I really resent the inability to edit or delete what I wrote) because I am banned and therefore blocked. When I inquired as to why I'd been blocked, I was told I was flagged eight times for being nothing but a rightwinger providing nothing but "rightwing talking points." I was shocked, and thoroughly disgusted. Those eight people pounced like a pack of dogs to silence counter-voices, even those from the same side. So, it is only Bernie supporters silencing voices from within.

I haven't forgot about you guys! I appreciate the offer extended here when I was sure March 12th would be my last at D.k. with the ass kicking I took with the chapelle meme i pointed out.

Jasper was a passionate good Pro clinton blogger who got popped off for using the word cult. I am not comfortable fighting with other dems, but Sanders riders have become jagbags, and I have more than enough experience in yahoo jousting to destroy them.... Only to get the poison emblem from Kos.

Phoenix, you are truly missed. I see Arabian is here! Outstanding. I think a few more would be interested in this too, for a change of pace, or if they become yosemite sam pissed at d.k. Sanders riders are going after.lysis and others for clinton safe zones..... Probably because we are kicking their asses in traffic.
