One last point, because I see it come up a lot. Some dick in the comments says “So how much is Hillary Clinton paying you?” because, you know, there’s no way someone could be neutral in the race or count the delegate math without being paid by her campaign, right? (Same as people who support her, and they exist even though she doesn’t pay them!)

The charge of shilling is insulting and actually against the rules. But of course, none of the rules (except racism) apply against me. I let anyone pretty much say anything they want about me because, you know, I’m such a censor of people’s free speech and stuff.

So I have an answer to that insulting question: How much has Hillary Clinton paid me? Nothing, obviously. But how much has her campaign paid Daily Kos? Not as much as the Bernie Sanders campaign. Funny truth, huh? In fact, it’s not even close.

Think about it, if you are the Sanders campaign, considering your core base, where WOULD you go to make sure your supporters were on your email list, that same list that has raised his campaign amazing amounts of money? That’s not to say that the Clinton campaign hasn’t been active here, but the Sanders netroots people are the smartest around, bar none. And they found a treasure trove of support on this site.

So if you subscribe to the theory that Daily Kos can be “bought”, how do you figure this fits into that narrative? The best thing that could happen to the site financially would be a primary that went to the convention. However, my motivation isn’t financial. It’s beating Donald Fucking Trump.

Because if money ruled the roost here, things would look a lot more different. (Just compare the number of ads here to what you see at Salon or other similar sites.)

Yeah just checked in on the group today and it seems like none of its really slowing down anymore. If anything the Bernie brigade has picked up more talking points on how they're martyrs for the cause. Funny enough the woman I'm dating who was a strong Bernie supporter has now switched sides. Came to realize there was nothing really different between Bernie and Trump or even Glen Beck.
